no one is talking about this - patricia lockwood

my friend catherine gave me this book while i was visiting her in dc, explaining that it was one of the "most keely things" she's ever read. i got through about half of it on my train ride home and i fear i agree. it's a neurotic, harrowing look at what the internet is doing to our brains. i have laughed out loud many times at "CAN A DOG BE TWINS"
disco elysium

my brother has been trying to get me to play this for almost a year now. i'm about 2 hours in, i haven't accomplished anything of note, but i can already tell this is gonna be a banger. i'm trying not to be freaked out by just how much there is to see, do and read (my GOD is there a lot to read) and just take my time enjoying the world. also it felt soooo good to boot it up on a train.
the feminine urge - the last dinner party
i knew zero songs by the last dinner party when i saw them at all things go festival this past friday night. by the end of their set, i was a fan. few bands have this much pure energy and (sorry) aura on stage, but their recordings go just as hard. i'm enjoying their entire first album prelude to ectasy as well as their new singles. this melody is the one that's stuck with me hardest.
nascar: full speed

tyler and i are pretty big nascar fans. we enjoyed season 1 of this show and the way it interviewed drivers behind the scenes and dramatized what happened in the races we watched each week. i'm excited for this season because my favorite driver daniel suarez is featured! also i forgot who won the championship last year so i have no idea how this season will end.
